I slept over 6 hours (the last two of which Mom called “noisy sleep”) and woke up around 4:30. I expected the same-old same-old, but instead of Dad getting up to feed me a bottle, Mom got up and we skipped the bottle all together! What gives? I guess it turns out that Mom was trying to “increase supply” and so decided that nursing in the middle of the night would help. Lucky Dad.
I slept until breakfast at 8:15. While I was playing with Mom, I grasped two things in my two hands for the first time ever. (Okay, maybe I’m reaching for milestones now…) After my 10:15 snack, I became a fountain of spit up, consuming 2 burp cloths and 3 bibs (yes, I wear a bib when I nurse. So?). I napped for a bit and then totally fooled Mom by taking a break from my lunch feeding to dirty not one, not two, but three diapers with the runniest, liquidest poop imaginable. Then I went right back to eating — had much more room to fill up!
Our afternoon outing was quite an adventure. First we went to get frozen yogurt at this funky place called Pinkberry. Then we tried to go to the Prenatal Yoga Studio, but they didn’t bother to answer the door when we buzzed. Then we stopped by Rite-Aid and Duane-Reade in a fruitless search for baby nail clippers. Then — and you gotta love this pun — we went to Upper Breast Side to get some pumping equipment. Our next step was Yogaworks, where Mom signed up for a two-week beginners package. Finally, we stopped at LuLuLemon, where Mom bought a new pair of yoga pants for her upcoming classes. Oh, yeah, I slept the whole time.
As we walked through the lobby of our building, one of the tenands said, “she must be a doll — she’s too pretty to be real.” As if I already didn’t have a big (77th perentile!) head. I ate my afternoon snack and then took a tummy-nap until 6:45. I swung in my swing while Mom and Dad ate dinner (honey-mustard baked chicken nuggets, if you’re curious) and then I got my own dinner around 8. Just before eating, though, Dad decided to do some “skin time” which we hadn’t done in a while. I got a bit confused and started trying to nurse him…and ended up nibbling on his shoulder blade and leaving a bruise on his neck!
I had supper at 9:30 and turned in for the night at 10:00.
