Helping Dad brush…

I got up on Friday with Mom and was excited when Nana was there to greet me.  Nana and I “cooked egg” for breakfast and I had a few bites of cream of wheat to go with it.  We went to the park and Nana even brought bread to feed the pigeons.   It was a fun trip, including a visit to the dog run.  When we got back home, I finished my cream of wheat, ate a banana, and tried to take a nap at 10, but when I hadn’t slept by11, Nana rescued me and we played downstairs.

After eating a so-so lunch, I finally took a nap around 1:15.  I woke up at 3:30 and played upstairs with Mom and read a lot of books together.  We went to the park and played football (without Dad!) and watched kids play baseball and fly kites.  At 6:30 Rachel came and Mom and Dad went out on a date.

On Saturday, Dad and I went to the grocery store, like usual.  We had lunch at Nana’s and Grandpa’s.  I usually love Indian food, but I wasn’t too interested in eating today.  We went straight from Nana’s and Grandpa’s to my 18-month doctor’s appointment.  It went soooo well!  I totally impressed my doctor and could do everything I was supposed to.

I’m now 90th percentile for height and weight, while still at 95% for head circumference!

A couple fun stories:

  • When it was time for my throat exam, Dr. Freeman asked Dad to bear hug me with one arm and hold my forehead with the other.  I was, of course, unhappy with that and protested.  Then Mom very calmly asked, “Maggie, can you please open your mouth so she can look in your mouth?” And I calmly looked at Dr. Freeman and opened my mouth really big!
  • Then when Dr. Freeman was deciding which vaccines to give me, she almost accidentally gave me the vaccine for 2-year-olds because I acted so much older than my age!

I got a few shots, but the Elmo stickers more than made up for it.  Then Mom and Dad took me out to ice cream (and actually shared with me!) to celebrate my good check-up!
