I woke up with Dad this morning, but Mom was in my room before I even got dressed. We all went downstairs together and I cooked an egg and ate oatmeal before going to our three grocery stores with Dad and getting our car back from the shop.
Mom gave me a snack of cheese and then tried to put me down for my nap surprisingly early (a bit after 10:00). I had no interest in sleeping and after about half an hour Mom gave up and got me up. I was so happy to see Papa and Uncle Dee-da! We all played together until Grandpa took off and the rest of us ate lunch a little before 12:00.
After lunch I put on my kangaroo costume and off we went to Boo-palooza at Wicker Park! It was quite cold and I was a bit overwhelmed by the overall chaos. There were lots of kids in cute costumes and plenty of fun activities, but I wasn’t really in to it. After we’d been there about half an hour, we decided to go back home and try that nap again. This time I was totally ready. Here are some highlights from Boo-palooza:
I got up around 3:00 to see Nana and Grandpa ready to trick-or-treat with me. We started by visiting a bunch of stores that were welcoming trick-or-treaters. It wasn’t nearly as fun as the offices I visited at school yesterday. We tried to trick-or-treat at a bunch of houses, but most people weren’t home and I only ended up with a few pieces of candy. Finally, we headed back home to host trick-or-treaters.
I had a lot more fun at home. I was in charge of answering the door and handing out candy to other kids. In the process, I figured out the best way to trick-or-treat:
Finally it was dinner time, bath time, and then bed time.
Last year I was a dragon!

eeeee! maggie is the cutest kangaroo i’ve ever seen!! and i fully approve of her thoughtful candy selections…. looks like she picked only the finest items for her pumpkin bucket 🙂
